Get to know your teachers

Mrs Adrie Lombard is a force to be reckoned with. After obtaining her degrees in primary education and remedial teaching, she left South Africa for England where she worked with disabled children.

Upon her return to South Africa, she landed the remedial teaching post at SMS in 1997, and has been here ever since. She has recently started teaching Afrikaans to the Grade 1-3 learners.

Mrs Lombard is from a small town in the Eastern Cape called Graaff-Reinet. She is the proud mother of 13-month-old son Jean-Phillip, who is a very independent young man. She is married to Mr Werner Lombard. Her two Chows, Nushka and Sasha, and her two cats, Bella and Moon complete the family.

Mrs Lombard is the driving force behind the Eersteling Farm School Christmas Boxes, because she felt that she needed to give back to the community. ‘Even a bar of soap is a luxury for those children,’ she says.

When she’s not at school teaching, she’s either at home with her family or out drinking coffee with her friends. ‘Coffee’s one of my absolute favourite things in the world,’ she admits.
