THE NEW GRADE 6 monitors were announced in chapel. Monitoring duties alternated during the first two terms of 2019 and now it was time for the final group of monitors to be announced.
Butterflies were flying around in stomachs and hands were shaking as Mrs Noeline Stumpfe called the names of the elected girls. Nervousness and stress were the order of the day.
Thirteen girls lined up in the front of the chapel with mixed feelings: they were extremely proud and relieved, but also sad about their friends who had not been chosen. They also realised it was time to change, time to pull up their socks and time to grow up and do their duty. Before the election, Mrs Stumpfe warned the girls, ‘As much as this is a privilege, it also comes with a huge responsibility.’
