ILLIANA STEVENS in Grade 10 has recently been selected as the winner of an Ambassador berth from ON POINT Lifestyle Magazine. She will take part in various ON POINT lifestyle projects and marketing and advertising campaigns, while also being featured in a special edition of ON POINT Lifestyle Magazine.

Movie night a great success

AMIDST THE UNCERTAINTY about the Corona Virus, the Community Services Committee hosted a movie night at the end of May. Kgosatsana Mabalane, a member of the committee, said that she had been inspired by the BLM movement during lockdown last year to end Period Poverty. The pad drive was connected to the movie night to encourage people to donate to a cause that really matters. Quite a few learners pitched in and supported this initiative.

Gr 11s prank across the board

DURING PRANK WEEK the Grade 11 learners are set loose to cause havoc and disruptance in their teachers’ lives. The week started off with a bang as they played a pre-recorded message in the form of a purge announcement, over the intercom, stating that Prank Week had begun and that the teachers should ever so often look over their shoulders and tread carefully.

The Phantom of the Opera

The theme of this year’s Valentine’s Ball was the Phantom of the Opera. Learners were encouraged to dress according to the theme. Many ladies were dressed very elegantly and looked stunning!

The woes of planning an Astro-tastic social

WHAT AN ASTROTASTIC NIGHT the Grade 10 Social was! The Grade 10 classes had come together to organise their first major event – the 2019 Astro World social. With the assistance of Mrs Seugnet Pieterson, Mr Eric and Mr Braam van Wyk, the event allowed all who attended a taste of what was meant by Travis Scott when he said, ‘It’s lit’.
