A sad but magical evening the matrics had, saying their farewells to one another at the beautiful Warm Karoo venue.
Mrs Seugnet Pietersen, who had been their Form Teacher since Grade 8, planned the unforgettable event meticulously and laid the tables herself because she wanted it perfectly done.
The Farewell started with matrics pulling up in sophisticated cars and even a cart ‘motored’ by two beautiful white horses. Four gallant Grade 8 learners with umbrellas were ready to open the car doors for the elegantly dressed Grade 12 ladies.
In an interview with Semester, Jasca de Abreu said how much she loved and appreciated the effort that had been put into the décor. The chandeliers and the white roses in a variety of glass and rose-gold vases created a stylish minimalistic look. Jasca thought the event was ‘glamorous and classy’, the perfect environment for the Class of 2021’s last opportunity to bond.
The parents were invited to enjoy cocktails with their daughters in the venue. They also watched how
Mr Van Wyk called every matriculant to receive a silver bracelet with her name engraved on it from the school. This created the ideal opportunity for the ladies to show off their dresses.
After a delicious meal the DJ’s selection of music had everyone enjoying themselves on the dance floor. Memories were captured at the photo booth and the beautiful lounge area was popular with those who needed a bit of a repose.
