MICHAELA THIKESON

With over 250 000 views on the first-ever video posted on the brand-new St Michael’s TikTok page, the new Media Club has already proven their excellence, leaving the rest of the learners excited for what’s to come.

The SMS Instagram page is alive and thriving with an average of 1000 views on the reels posted. A combination of learners from The Semester, the Photography Club and the Computer Committee co-operate to control the social- media platforms of the school. The members currently consist of Kwame Moabi, Itumeleng Semoli, Vimbai Chituku, Khumo Madito, Lethabo Sello, Atang Sediane and Ndumi Masithela.

Their concept ideas include montage videos, a day in the life of the head girl and school promo videos – a look into the sport and cultural activities at St Michael’s.

It was decided, amongst these learners that it would be necessary for St Michaels’s to keep up with the trend of popular schools on social media, such as Michaelhouse and St Stithians, but to promote the school itself on a big platform.

They aim to encourage the sisterly bond within the school, promote the school in a positive light and to capture all the pleasant moments for our learners to look back on and to give outsiders a peak into life at St Michael’s. The media club strives to create a great public reputation for our school while keeping the safety of our learners in mind.

We can’t wait to see what more they have in store for us.
