This extraordinary book is about fake dating – a personal favourite of mine. This story follows the journey of the teenaged Becca Hart who failed miserably in her senior year. ‘Why?’ you ask. A kiss with the most popular boy in the school, a genuinely good guy called Brett Wells, can do that to a person’s life – that’s why. The captain of the football team suddenly becomes her fake boyfriend.

Becca is an avid reader and here enters this boy and a plan straight out of the books she reads and a tale as old as time. True to the fake dating trope, feelings start flying and the line between real and pretend begins to blur. They have the most beautiful encounters and interactions. I couldn’t stop smiling at my phone – because I didn’t have the privilege to read it in paper-back form.

I really enjoyed this book, and if you love a good sunshine romance, this book is for you. It definitely gets a

go-to recommendation. An upside of the book is that it can also be found on the reading platform Wattpad.
