Proctor camp revolves around an image of a pyramid

The 2021 Proctor Body attended an enriching leadership camp during the first weekend of the term. Due to the Level 3 lockdown, this year’s camp diverged from normalcy – since St Michael’s couldn’t go to Moolmanshoek as they had in previous years. The Friday afternoon was reserved for ice-breaker games. This included the frightening experience of putting their hands on mouse traps to build trust in one another!

Thrown in at the deep end

At the beginning of the Term 1 Exeat weekend, a group of wide-eyed, super-excited SMS swimmers departed for the annual highlight for swimmers – the Midmar Mile. It is the world’s largest open-water swimming event that attracted over 13 000 entries this year.

A debating star is born

Five years ago, when a Grade Eight learner walked into Mrs Basson’s classroom to start participating in debating, nobody could have guessed where her talent would take her. Jessica Chuang, a matric learner and star debater at St Michael’s, will even feature on national television soon.
