Speech Night, Valedictory, Songs of Celebration and Carol Service. These are only a few of the events that happened during the fourth term. Although the fourth term is usually seen as the most important term of the year, with final exams and all, St Michael’s fourth term is also by far the busiest one.
Our Junior Primary, Senior Primary and Chapel Choir did a wonderful job at Songs of Celebration and left the audience applauding for more. The Senior Primary Choir as well as our Chapel Choir has been working hard especially during the past two terms and they received great results for their hard work on their respective tours.
kykNET visited St Michael’s in October to document the everyday rituals of the school and to showcase SMS talent by hosting a concert that was held by the primary, junior and senior schools. The high-school girls performed various events such as dancing, drama recitals and SAASTA Debating along with many musical items – on the marimba, piano, violin and recorder. The positive feedback and appreciation from the audience proved that an exceptional job had been done.
As always, in true St Michael’s fashion, our ladies ended this year with a bang. I want to congratulate all 2019 achievers in sport, academics and cultural activities. You have worked hard to achieve your goals and we are very proud of you!
I’d also like to congratulate and welcome the matric class of 2020 as well as the 2020 leadership body and wish them the best of luck in leading the school next year. As I hand over my title of head editor to Katherine I would like to thank Mrs Du Toit and my wonderful editorial team for two amazing and fruitful years. I am very grateful for all the support that we have received from the parents, the teachers and the students during the course of my term as head editor.
Katherine, I wish you all the best for the future of SeMeSter and I want you to remember that you are not alone – your editorial team will always be there for you.
As 2019 comes to an end it’s time to head to the beach for the December holidays before starting the new chapter of 2020!
