Mr Van Wyk made the exciting proposal that every grade comes up with their own dance to this song. It was a great chance for everyone to escape from the reality of COVID-19 and have fun together. 2020 Founders Day extra special

Lockdown long and tiring

The lockdown period was long, tiring and everyone was unsure about what was happening around them. This pandemic changed our lives forever, with many questions left unanswered: when will school open again; will we be able to visit friends and family soon; will we have to wear masks for ever and will life ever be the same again? The dates on which schools would open again, kept changing. No one was sure and online teaching and learning continued.

Not a single tear shed on first day

The grade ones arrived on their first day, smiling in their new uniforms ready to start “big school” and to test their new playground. 15 Janury was the day the Grade 1 teachers would start molding these…into the leaders of 2031, where they will make the world a better place.

The Phantom of the Opera

The theme of this year’s Valentine’s Ball was the Phantom of the Opera. Learners were encouraged to dress according to the theme. Many ladies were dressed very elegantly and looked stunning!

Hockey hero shares her dreams at Honours Dinner

The first Honours Dinner at St Michael’s was held in the ’90s. Initially there were two separate Honours Dinners, one for academic and one for sports achievements. It was then decided to combine into one event to honour, thank and congratulate learners who have excelled.

Grade 7 camp drags girls out of their comfort zone

Camp at Moolmanshoek forced the Grade 7 girls to see life a little differently; to have fun while thinking out of the box….or to have fun because of thinking out of the box.

CFG begins the year with a weekend filled with praise and worship

CFG started the year with a praise and worship weekend at Mooigenoeg, accompanied by Mrs Reneé du Toit and their chaplain, Rev. Grant Trewern.

Gr 8s welcomed to SMS

After the symbolic Basher Ceremony where the new high-school learners were welcomed into the hierarchy, the matric baton of the past hundred and forty-five years was passed on to the next generation. The matric badges were received with trepidation at the responsibility.
